1) DRIVER’S AGE
The driver of the rented vehicle as well as any additional driver must have reached the age of 23 with a one-year drivers license at least and must not have exceeded the age of 73.
2) DRIVING LICENSE
The driving license must have been issued at least one year before the rental date and it is accepted if recognized as valid by the Greek law. In any other case the driver must have an International Driving License accompanied by the national driving license.
In addition, the driver must have a valid ID card or Passport. Citizens outside the European Union must have an international driver’s license, and their national diploma. If your country is not listed on the following link: UN Rules are required to have an international driver’s permit.
3) ADDITIONAL DRIVER
In every rental only one driver is covered by the insurance. In order to have another driver authorized, he/she will have to be present at the rental agreement and have a valid ID card or Passport and driving license.
The service of the additional driver is charged with an extra 15 euro per rental day.
4) PAYMENT METHOD
The payment can be made by cash or credit card. All credit cards are accepted, excluding AMERICAN EXPRESS and DINERS. A valid Credit Card accepted by Captain’s, must be shown for the pre-authorization of the renter’s liability as well as the settlement of final rental charges for all reservations.
5) TIME OF PAYMENT
The payment takes place when the rental agreement is signed. If a deposit has been made in advance, the rest of the amount will be paid upon the signing of the agreement.
6) GUARANTEE
Upon pick up of the vehicle, Captain’s will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental period, provided no other charges arise. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car model and subject to rental agreement of the Captain’s contract with the renter.
7) INSURANCE
All authorized drivers of Captain’s vehicles are covered against damages from Fire to the rented vehicle, and Liability Insurance to Third Party , injury, and property. Both coverages are subject to General Terms of the Captain’s insurance contract with its Insurer.
8) COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER
The renter’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle, can be reduced at the amount of 800€, under the condition that the Greek Traffic Law is not violated. The reduced liability is valid only if the renter chose that particular type of insurance when signing the agreement and accepted the additional charge of 20 € per day, besides the basic agreed daily rate.
In any case the renter is not covered by the insurance for damages to flashbulbs and lights, mirrors, interior, seats and living room, tires, wheels, antenna, roof and underside of the vehicle and for any damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel. In the above cases the renter is responsible for the entire damage. Insurance coverage is not provided, also, if the driver is under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs, hallucinatory drugs, barbiturate, or any other substance that affects in any way his driving ability.
9) FIRE AND WINDSCREEN PROTECTION
Captain’s IKE is provided with fire and windscreen protection for its vehicles, except damages of lights and mirrors. Damages are not covered by the insurance if caused by negligence or any liability of the driver.
10) INCIDENT FILE COST
In case of an accident due to the renter’s or driver’s liability, he has the obligation to pay to Captain’s IKE a nonrefundable fee of 50€ for the processing of the file.
11) FINES AND LAW VIOLATIONS
The renter is obliged to strictly observe the rules of the Greek Traffic Law and consequently for the fines and penalties that will result from their violation, he will be solely responsible. In the event that the renter fails to pay the fines resulting from any breach of Greek Traffic Law and that Captain’s IKE is required to pay for it, there will be an extra charge of 50€ above the infringement costs. In the event of license plates being taken by the authorities, the renter will be charged with daily rent until the vehicle’s license plates are returned by the competent authority.
12) ADDITIONAL CHARGES
If the vehicle is returned with stains requiring biological cleaning of its interior (for example: sand, animal hair, food, liquids, oils, paints etc.), the renter is charged with the amount of 100€.
13) DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
If there is no special agreement, the renter will collect and deliver the vehicle to the Captain’s IKE office.
14) DELIVERY SERVICE AND COLLECTION SERVICE
Delivery and collection service is free of charge. When the agreed delivery and / or collection location is different from Captain’s IKE office, the enterprise reserves the right to charge additional costs, in proportion to the distance traveled from its office and are subject to prior agreement.
15) FLEET AVAILABILITY
Captain’s IKE has the right to change the vehicle at any time during the rental period and replace it with similar or of the same type.
16) RENTAL EXTENSION
Extension of the agreed rent term can only be made with the approval of Captain’s IKE and should be accompanied by a new rental agreement which will be governed by the same terms and conditions with the initial.
17) MINIMUM RENT TERM AND ALLOWABLE DELAY
Minimum rent term is defined as one day (24 hours), with an allowable 30mins delay limit. Any additional (longer than 30 mins) delay is charged as an extra day.
18) RESERVATIONS
Captain’s IKE enables the prospective renter to book before arriving, either online or by telephone. In these cases, in order to complete the process, the renter has to pay a 50% of the total amount in advance, either by credit card or via bank transfer. Any additional charges from the Bank due to the transfer or the credit card payment are borne by the renter. The booking is considered to be valid when Captain’s IKE receives the advance payment and has sent the confirmation e-mail to the potential renter.
19) CANCELLATIONS AND DEPOSITS
A reservation for which a deposit has been collected, if it is canceled up to 25 days before the date of automatic receipt, the full amount of the deposit will be refunded.
Advances for bookings canceled less than 25 days from the agreed date of receipt are non-refundable.
Any bank charges that occur as a result of cancellation of the reservation, are charged to the tenant.
20) BABY CAR SAFETY SEAT
Baby car safety seat is available, with an additional charge of 10€ per day and provided after prior booking.
21) GASOLINE POLICY
The vehicle is delivered by Captain’s IKE with a quantity of fuel and is returned by the renter in the same condition. Otherwise, the renter is required to pay Captain’s IKE the difference at the time of the drop off and an additional 10€ for refuelling costs.
22) TRANSPORTATION BY SHIP
The entrance and transportation of the rented vehicle by ship outside of the island of Andros is strictly forbidden without the written consent of Captain’s IKE.
23) TAXES
All prices listed include taxes.
24) FUEL POLICY
At the end of rental, the renter is required to refill the petrol in the tank of the vehicle, with same quantity as being initial received. In other case which is less, a Refueling Service Charges will be applied accordingly.
25) FLEET AVAILABILITY
The Agency reserves the right to provide a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher model- type.
26) BEYOND THE ISLAND RENTALS
Allowed only with the prior written agreement with Captain’s.
